A tropical fruit called a mango may be found on evergreen trees that can reach a height of 30 meters. Mango trees, sometimes known as aftertaste trees, have a lengthy lifespan of up to 300 years. They originate from India and Burma, where they have been grown for more than 4,000 years. Mangoes are referred to as “the fruit of the gods” in some of the earliest Hindu texts. The wild mango was also the staple meal of the prehistoric people living in the tropical Asian regions. Only around the start of the 16th century, when Portuguese sailors brought mangoes from the Far East, could Europeans, who had only heard of this fruit in traveler’s tales, really encounter it. Eventually, the Spaniards brought this crop to their colonies, which is how fruit gained popularity.
